About OPEN HOUSE

OPEN HOUSE is a new kind of retail experience.

It’s a space where brands bring their values to the table, literally — inviting you to sit down, learn about what they do, and create alongside the people behind the work. Discovery doesn’t happen in passing here. It happens through conversation, curiosity, and hands-on experience.

Every booth is an invitation to engage more deeply. Makers and small business owners lead simple, guided activities that showcase their expertise, giving them the chance to demonstrate credibility in real time. You’re not just walking by a market table — you’re building a connection, learning a process, and leaving with something you made yourself. And yes, you can shop and support them, too.

OPEN HOUSE is about creating a more human way to experience retail, one that prioritizes interaction over transaction and relationships over quick impressions. It’s where creativity becomes conversation, and where the stories behind small businesses are as visible as the products themselves.

Flourish Locally, the studio behind OPEN HOUSE, was founded by experiential marketer and producer Lauren Tetef. After more than a decade producing markets, activations, and community programs, Lauren created OPEN HOUSE as a response to the evolving retail landscape — a way to reimagine how people discover and connect with small businesses in a more meaningful, participatory way.

Lauren has been teaching creative workshops since she was a store manager at Anthropologie in 2012; bringing her team together through the collective joy of gathering and making. OPEN HOUSE is an extension of that creative vision.
